I have  long wanted to add another set of skills.  The past few months, I have been taking training through the Midwest Center for EMDR and Training. The skills have been invaluable but they have also taught me a valuable lesson about the brain’s capacity to heal. Just as the body seems to know what it wants, the brain has a wonderful adaptive capacity to recover from trauma both big and little. If we just get out of the way, we have the ability to recover balance. Not only can EMDR help with the effects of PTSD  but it can be helpful for anxiety and single event trauma
